The RoleRegistered Nurse managing and delivering care to a defined caseload / group of clients / patients; responsible for delivering / ensuring the application of the framework of the Nursing Process and use of case management as appropriate, to ensure a high standard of quality client / patient care, working in partnership with other disciplines and agencies.
The charge nurse has delegated responsibility for the appraisal, management and clinical supervision of Registered Nurses, junior practitioners and clinical support workers in provision of care and treatment within a defined clinical service, under the management and leadership of the team leader / senior charge nurse or practitioner.

What we'll need you to bringRegistered Nurse with valid NMC RegistrationEducated to/working towards/operating at Degree LevelPost graduate expertise within speciality / area of practice that demonstrates the required breadth of knowledge required to lead safety, effectively and efficiently.Comprehensive knowledge of clinical guidelines and standards within the speciality / area of practice.Specialist knowledge and experience of relevant conditions, pathology, policies and procedures associated with the speciality/area of practice ensuring that the level of expertise can be utilised to deliver leadership within speciality / area of practice.Leadership skills to enable the day to day management of service delivery.Further education/evidence of Continuous Professional Development in area of speciality including study days/courses/post graduate qualificationThe post holder will possess excellent team-working/leadership skills and have the ability to motivate others and work using own initiativeExcellent listening, communication and interpersonal skills.Effective time management skillsWorking knowledge of basic information technologyIt would be great if you also haveCompletion of mentorship trainingStudy days/courses/post graduate qualification in relevant clinical fieldCompletion of suicide prevention trainingCompletion of 10 ESCsDemonstrable post registration practice in Mental Health or Learning Disability nursingKnowledge of evidence based interventions in the nursing care and treatment of people with mental disorderKnowledge of current national policy and legislation relevant to MH & older people's mental health nursing proactiveEvidence of ability to develop leadership skillsPrevious experience of presentations and report writingContract typePermanent, Full time, 37 hours
Location and Working PatternThis role will be based in Ward 19, UHH Mental Health within University Hospital Hairmyres.
The working pattern for this role - Early - 07:10 - 15:10, Late - 13:50 -21:50, Nightshift - 21:35 - 07:25
