Essential Duties/Principal Responsibilities: Pursue sales leads; visit existing and new customers; assess customer needs and suggest appropriate products and services; respond to customer enquiries; negotiate prices and delivery times within limits of authority; and conclude sales orders to meet revenue targets.Identify, research, and contact prospective customers and build positive relationships that will generate future sales and repeat business.Refer sales leads, customer feedback, and information on competitor activity to appropriate contacts within the organization so that they can respond to changing market conditions and customer demands.Establish annual, quarterly, monthly, or weekly sales plans and prioritize and schedule own activities so these targets are met.Develop long-term sales plans for key customers and accounts and monitor and adapt sales activities so that these objectives are met.Build consultative relationships with municipal end users, consultant engineering firms, and utility contractors to position Xylem solutions to solve customer's issues and become a permanent influencer on Bid documents.Create synergy opportunities for cross-business consultative selling based on an understanding and awareness of the Xylem solution set.Coach and mentor less experienced sales representatives to achieve their sales targets.Be alert to competitive products and practices and keep management informed of market conditions, competitive scope and approach, and any trends in the marketplace.Additional Responsibilities: Work closely with all regional front end long cycle sales team to bring and secure high percentage of success in key opportunities linked to Xylem portfolio.Hard work on project from feasibility studies to influence on technical bid documents.Early filtering of opportunities to define if pursuing opportunity or not.Join the global Xylem team to be a part of innovative technology solutions transforming water usage, conservation, and re-use.
