The Position We've been able to craft a best-in-class app for iOS and Mac, and now want to offer Android users the same level of user experience. To achieve this, we're looking for a Staff Android Engineer to lead the development of our new platform and contribute to the building of an all-star Android team. In this role, you'll work closely with our Product, Design, Backend, and iOS/Mac teams to develop our native Android app from scratch. We know this is no small feat, so you'll be the first hire out of a 3-person Android team based in NYC and Santiago. This is a hybrid position based in Santiago, Chile. You'll be required to come into our office at least 2 times a week along with the rest of the team. We work from home the rest of the week, but the office is always available in case you want to make use of it more often. Your Responsibilities Lead the development of our Android app. Propose and implement the software architecture and design of the app. Propose and implement the Android team's workflow, including code reviews and CI / CD. Work closely with Product and Design to ship a best-in-class product. Work closely with the Backend team to outline the projects that involve both teams. Help us hire an all-star Android team. Required Qualifications 7+ years of experience working on native Android apps. Extensive experience developing with Kotlin. An eye for good design, and attention to detail. English proficiency. All our meetings and internal communications are in English. Team player who can manage time independently. Experience leading and/or managing a small (or big!) engineering team. Based in Santiago, Chile. Desired Qualifications Bachelor in Computer Science or equivalent. Experience with: Google Cloud / Firebase / Firestore, Typescript / Javascript, Node.js, CI / CD systems. You've collaborated in hiring processes, either interviewing, taking tests, or managing the process. Compensation and Benefits Monthly salary of CLP $4.000.000 - $5.000.000 (líquido).
