About the Role The Operational Performance Insights (OPI) team is a global team within Group Operational Performance. OPI aims to enable operational performance uplift through full performance transparency across core value chain elements, measured in line with global standards across all operations. We do this by: Delivering excellence in operational performance reporting and systems, including compliance to plan and equipment performance and workforce productivity reporting. Delivering accurate, insightful, and timely lead and lag key value driver reporting and asset/region performance reporting to senior leaders to drive performance and enable assurance. Enabling better access to performance insights and data for operational teams and leaders, reducing manual effort. We are seeking a mining professional for the role of Specialist Operational Performance Insights to report to the Superintendent Performance Insights and support Escondida and Pampa Norte. In the role of Specialist Operational Performance Insights you will: Work in partnership with the assets and sites to understand their Compliance to Plan and key mining equipment productivity performance (plans and actuals), as well as focus areas for improvement. Contribute to Operational Performance Insights reporting routines (C2P and Equipment Productivity and Benchmarking) for Escondida and Spence. Continuously improve mine planning and production data, through engagement with stakeholders to resolve any issues at the source. Train stakeholders in the use of existing OPI Dashboards. Develop and promote new OPI Dashboards, collaborating with our customers and internal team. Being a part of a global team, this role offers excellent development opportunities with a team dedicated to quality insights and continuous improvement but will require some flexibility in working different hours across time-zones. The opportunity will be based in Santiago with some site travel required. About You You will have worked in a professional mining environment and are familiar with various mine planning horizons and mining techniques. The successful candidate will have a curious mind that seeks to understand 'why' and ask the appropriate questions to establish the root cause. You will be able to establish credibility through your technical ability, listening to our users and excellent communication skills. An ability to constructively question ideas and results and build trusted relationships with a diverse range of stakeholders will be essential. Minimum requirements that this candidate will bring are: Minimum 3 years' experience in either as a mine planner/scheduler, geologist, mine analyst, mine control specialist or similar role. Experience in the mining industry, Escondida or Spence are favourable. Advanced English proficiency. Strong understanding of data sources for mine planning and/or production data. Strong analytical, critical thinking, and creative problem-solving skills to generate insights for improvement opportunities. Strong communication skills with the ability to effectively communicate with multiple organisational levels and deliver high quality insight through polished presentation. Ability to work remotely from your team, and leader but with our broader Group Operational performance team in Santiago. Be a well-organised self-starter that can manage multiple deadlines across multiple time horizons and deliver reliably. Experience with visualisation software (e.g. Power BI) or a willingness to learn. Proficiency in MS Office is essential, Excel, Word, PowerPoint.
