Eaton's IS VEH Power Connections division is currently seeking a Shipping Clerk - 1st Shift. This position is based at our Carol Stream, IL location. The shipping and receiving clerk position verifies and keeps records on incoming and outgoing shipments and prepares items for shipment to quality and productivity standards. The hourly rate for this position is $21.05 per hour. Please note the salary information shown above is a general guideline only. What you'll do: • Operate lift trucks or hand trucks to convey, move or hoist materials to proper departments or areas.
• Operate the stretch wrap banders.
• Unpacks, examines and routes incoming shipments, rejects damaged items, records shortages, and corresponds with shipper to rectify damages and shortages. Receives and processes all defective parts returned for replacement or credit.
• Maintain inventory of shipping materials and supplies.
• Perform all computer functions necessary to track various aspects of goods.
• Support the shipment of goods produced and the received goods and supplies to be used in or to aid in the production/storage of goods destined for sale to our customer base.
• Responsible for making arrangements for pick up by the carrier specified on the customer's purchase order, which is conveyed to the shipping clerk by final inspection via the shipping instructions.
• Reports defective materials or questionable conditions to the department supervisor.
• Responsible for keeping an adequate supply of shipping materials on hand at all times.
• Maintain the work area and equipment in a clean and orderly condition and follows prescribed safety regulations.
• Required to make pickups and deliveries to our suppliers for parts and raw materials using a company van. Qualifications: Basic (Required) Qualifications:
• Two (2) years' experience working with heavy machinery, forklifts, or other related equipment.
• Stand up forklift experience required
• Must be able to read, write, and speak English
• Must be able to understand verbal and written instructions
• No relocation benefit is being offered for this position. All candidates must currently reside within 50 miles of the work location to be considered. Active-Duty Military Service member candidates are exempt from the geographical area limitation.
Preferred Qualifications:
