Title:Senior Underwriter, Property (ESP: Subgerente de Propiedad)Company:Everest Insurance ChileJob Category:UnderwritingJob Description:The primary purpose of this role is to partner in the development and execution of the Chile underwriting strategy and support to the Active Underwriter and the wider underwriting community across Everest Global Markets in its delivery.Core Responsibilities:Produce, underwrite and service accounts and assist with property underwriting and departmental workflow systems, processes, and related issues as necessary.Expand the Property portfolio in line with controls, underwriting strategy, and guidelines, while maintaining a focus on bottom line underwriting profit and delivery.Develop and maintain relationships with key brokers and clients.Underwrite and price Property risks, including all forms of distribution, and determine the acceptability of risks for underwriting.Bind various coverages subject to authority level and answer inquiries from producers.Prepare quotations and formal proposals on new and renewal business.Ensure documentation is completed timely and accurately according to standards.Assist Head of Property in addressing and resolving overdues, workflow, and various critical issues as necessary.Effectively communicate with management on all issues both within and outside the Unit as needed.Interact and coordinate activities with other departments.Liaise with other underwriting departments as necessary.Recommend new procedures and programs where warranted.Furnish intelligence on the Property market, including competitor strengths and weaknesses.Comply with proper internal controls necessary to conduct job functions and responsibilities.Develop business through execution of new ideas and strategies.Assist Head of Property in CAT management.Assist Head of Property in follow-up UW performance.Assist Head of Property in commercial activity management and achievement of Property Department's goals.Qualifications:Minimum of a bachelor's degree or equivalent in business or a related field.4-10 years of property and/or energy underwriting experience.Advanced English (required).Experience in shared and layered (preferred) insurance market.Knowledgeable about Catastrophe management and property policy wordings.Outstanding interpersonal relationship building, employee coaching, and development skills.Proficient in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and other relevant tools.Our Culture:At Everest, our purpose is to provide the world with protection.
