Reporting to the Principal Advisor Projects, working in a collaborative community, a challenging and exciting environment, and a diverse team, you will be: Provide project controls assurance over Escondida´s projects pipeline for short, medium and long-term planning Provide technical input for Rio Tinto's reporting, planning and forecasting activities. Monitor capex performance and projects pipeline and understand key risks and drivers Proactively engage with the Escondida management team to identify opportunities and apply best practice Review proposed capital projects. Provide recommendations regarding key assumptions and coordinate internal governance process for Rio Tinto approvals. Contribute to Escondida´s life of asset process. Understand key challenges and development options Collaborate with Rio Tinto technical centers of excellence Participate in the development and implementation of strategic projects and relationships required to support implementation of the Rio Tinto Chile Strategy Approximately 10-20% travel is possible What you'll bring A commitment to the safety of yourself and your team Engineering degree (or similar) and/or equivalent work experience At least 10 years of experience in project controls, good knowledge of capex estimate, schedule analysis and cost control Ability to engage effectively (written and verbal) with stakeholders at all levels Strong project management & project controls knowledge Excellent relationship building and communication skills Ability to achieve outcomes through influence and collaboration with others Fluency in English and Spanish is required It will also be beneficial if you have: Experience in Life of Mine / strategic production planning Experience in process safety and critical risk management About Rio Tinto Rio Tinto is a leading global mining and materials company.
