An important services company is looking for a Regional Head of Accounting LATAM to join its successful team.
Location: Santiago, Chile Position Overview: The Regional Head of Accounting is responsible for leading the accounting operations in the Latin America region, including—but not limited to—: Panama, Mexico, Chile, Brazil, and Uruguay.
This role involves ensuring compliance with local and international accounting standards, managing financial reporting, and providing strategic oversight to drive financial performance and operational efficiency.
Job Functions: Budgeting & Forecasting: Collaborate with regional and local management to develop budgets and forecasts, analyzing financial performance and variances.
Audit Coordination: Manage relationships with external auditors and coordinate regional audit activities, ensuring timely and effective resolutions of findings.
Process Improvement: Identify opportunities to streamline accounting processes and implement best practices to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with other departments, including finance, operations, and treasury, to support business objectives and provide financial insights.
Cash Flow Management: Oversee cash flow management for the region, ensuring optimal liquidity and financial health.
Taxes: Oversee tax preparation efforts to be submitted by tax advisors.
Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA or equivalent certification preferred.
8+ years of accounting experience, with a minimum of 4 years in a managerial or regional role.
Strong knowledge of international accounting standards and local regulations.
Proficient in accounting software and ERP systems; advanced Excel skills are a plus.
Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a focus on strategic thinking.
Fluent in English.
