The Quality Engineer role is responsible for the quality of deliverables and platform for the Chronos team. The Chronos team manages AccessPortal, User Management Service, Sync Service, and Decision Portal Framework services, which are the main platform and services available for most of the Interconnect internal Services (CPT, DPT, SAFE, etc.) and are also exposed to external clients in different regions (Concocora, BSI, etc.).
What you'll do: With limited oversight, use your experience and knowledge of testing and testability to influence better software design, promote proper engineering practices, bug prevention strategies, testability, accessibility, privacy, and other advanced quality concepts across solutions.
Develop test strategies, automate tests using test frameworks, and write moderately complex code/scripts to test solutions, products, and systems.
Monitor product development and usage at all levels with an eye for product quality.
Create test harnesses and infrastructure as necessary.
Demonstrate an understanding of test methodologies, writing test plans, creating test cases, and debugging.
What experience you need: Bachelor's degree in a STEM major or equivalent experience.
2-5 years of software testing experience.
Able to create automated tests based on functional and non-functional requirements.
Self-starter that identifies/responds to priority shifts with minimal supervision.
Experience with software build management tools like Maven or Gradle.
Experience with software testing tools like Cucumber, Selenium.
Knowledge of software testing, performance, and quality engineering techniques and strategies.
Familiarity with testing technologies: JIRA, Confluence, Office products.
Experience with cloud technology: GCP, AWS, or Azure.
Cloud Certification strongly preferred.
