Role Purpose: Responsible for managing the overall planning, execution and delivery for the Nuevo Cobre project through managing contracts, resources, budgets, and identifying and managing risks. Role Accountabilities: Implements and maintains appropriate H&S standards to ensure the safe delivery of the project. Establishes project protocols and procedures to optimise decision making, record keeping, control of costs and team communications. Complies with statutory, legal, JV and Rio Tinto requirements as well as community expectations and recognised leading practice. Builds, influences and maintains a productive project culture for high levels of collaboration, engagement and productivity across all teams. Monitors and manages information requests, audits, site visits, and communications between partners. Determines project priorities in conjunction with key stakeholders and defines scopes of work, schedules, budget estimations, and implementation plans, including risk mitigation. Coordinates internal and external resources to ensure that the project adheres to scope, schedule, and budget. Analyzes project status, trends and, when necessary, revises the scope, schedule, or budget to ensure that project requirements can be met. Establishes and maintains relationships with relevant stakeholders, providing day-to-day contact on project status and changes. Reports on project outcomes and risks to the appropriate management channels and escalates issues, as necessary, according to project work plan. Ensures stakeholder requirements are properly understood and project deliverables are met. Monitors projects on an ongoing basis, evaluates progress/quality and manages issue resolution. Manages and develops the performance of the team in line with the JVs and Rio Tinto's company values, in order to achieve objectives. Leads and integrates multi-functional teams. Education, Experience and Behaviour Requirements: Proficient in Spanish and English. Demonstrated project management experience including advanced exploration/evaluation studies and/or development of mining projects. Strong planning, management, and coordination skills with a demonstrated ability of critical thinking. Skilled in effectively communicating and presenting (both orally and in writing) issues and recommendations and the reporting of results. Leadership, organizational oriented to objectives skills. Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills with demonstrated ability to build relationships at all levels with both internal and external stakeholders.
