Job Summary The Production Engineer utilizes a broad understanding of the unit operations processes and procedures to provide analysis, give instruction, plan, compile information, and work collaboratively with others to meet daily production plans.
The role has responsibility for assessing the quality, robustness, and capability of the process and making decisions, with others, to halt or modify production as needed if the process does not meet quality and/or safety standards.
Support production unit activities to meet Safety, Health and Environmental Goals.Drive Quality / Food Safety, Production, and Cost Improvement activities.Provide technical support for specific manufacturing unit(s) including monitoring performance metrics, monitoring OEE data, troubleshooting, and investigating product quality issues.Investigate and resolve production issues such as schedule delays, process disruptions, equipment failures, and other production-related concerns with a cross-functional team (Operations, Engineering, Maintenance, and Quality Control).Manage unit Process Safety Management (PSM) aspects including Management of Change (MOC) and Pre-startup Safety Reviews (PSSR).Lead the safety effort and continuously maintain/build safety culture.Provide Unit subject matter expertise/process knowledge to all functions (e.g., Maintenance, Manufacturing Technology, Quality, etc.
).Use scientific and engineering methodologies to design and plan experiments to support the development of production improvements.Coordinate Unit maintenance activities utilizing the Work Management Process (WMP) and in collaboration with the Maintenance Coordinator and Maintenance staff.Provide expertise during plant start-ups and shut downs.Establish effective communications systems throughout the unit focused on sharing information and engaging employees in the success of the facility.Perform job duties in a manner that follows food safety and quality guidelines including HACCP, GMPs, QA Policies, Sanitation, and Pest Control.We are a global leader in taste, scent, and nutrition, offering our customers a broader range of natural solutions and accelerating our growth strategy.
