About the Role
Reporting directly into the Manager Payroll Systems, this role is responsible for the solution design, operational support, stability and future roadmap of BHP's large and complex integrated SAP payroll ecosystem. As part of the Enterprise & Global Payroll Systems team, you will have a specific technical and/or functional focus area of responsibility and will be predominantly responsible for the Chile country payroll solution and will also participate in other strategic global initiatives when required.
Acts as a solution SME and internal consultant in SAP Payroll technology by providing fit-for-purpose design and solution guidance to our stakeholders and implementation partners.
Consults with business stakeholders to frame up business requirements for improvement initiatives and projects and produce the corresponding high-level solution design documents and implementation estimates.
Works closely with partner technical/functional teams to drive operational improvements including automations and innovations.
Governs our offshore DevOps team and project implementation partners by reviewing and signing off detailed solution design documents to ensure the solution being implemented adheres to our design principles and architectural patterns.
Provides input into data migration strategy, testing strategy and review of test scripts for larger projects to ensure a quality outcome that meets the needs of our customers and can be seamlessly transitioned to operational support.
Accountable for ensuring that requirements for operational supportability are adhered to for new service transitions to the relevant offshore team(s).
Support major incidents by providing functional/technical expertise and coaching to our DevOps team and managing stakeholder engagement/reporting.
Plan, coach and manage the teams within the accountable technical/functional stream.
About You
The ideal candidate should have:
Years relevant experience with a Fortune 100 organisation and/or consulting environment.
Demonstrated experience in the implementation and/or support of SAP HR Payroll systems in large complex organisations with at least one full cycle SAP Payroll implementation.
Demonstrated Domain knowledge in Payroll Systems including an understanding of the Chile specific legislations and requirements that relate to payroll.
Functional knowledge of the SAP Payroll solution including the Chile country solution preferably for a large global organisation.
Demonstrated business relationship management skills and ability to influence others through cooperative relationships.
Experience managing service providers and vendors in an outsourced environment.
Strong collaboration skills and ability to effectively work in a diverse and globally dispersed virtual team environment.
Proven track record of taking ownership and driving issues to resolution.
Operational mind-set with experience working in an operational environment with 24/7 accountability.
Strong written and verbal communication skills; ability to present and discuss technical information in a way that establishes rapport, persuades others, and gains understanding.
Demonstrated experience and/or prior knowledge of DevOps & agile practices.
Experience with Time and Attendance solutions (SAP or 3rd Party Products).
Skills:
Fluent in Spanish and English.
Bachelor degree in STEM-related discipline.
SAP Certifications – added bonus.
