About the Role A key member of the Major Permits team, the Principal role is accountable for providing support to the team regarding the efficacy of governance of permitting processes, and for providing second line of defence of Cultural Heritage risks, controls and commitments of environmental permits and internal global standards. The Principal is accountable for: Applying a systematic and disciplined approach to identifying, evaluating, and advising on areas where the team can improve the design and operational effectiveness of major permit's processes. As a Subject Matter Expert, providing governance for the asset Cultural Heritage management system across the full operations and projects life cycle in Minerals Americas. Providing support or directly managing permits to be submitted and approved by Consejo de Monumentos Nacionales. Reviewing the inclusion of Cultural Heritage risks and opportunities into LoA and 2YB, as well as integrating Major Permit's views into the processes. Ensuring the embedment of Cultural Heritage issues into capital projects. Liaising with Indigenous Affairs and Community teams on Cultural Heritage issues relative to legal or other requirements and engagement providing expert input and process assurance. Providing analysis and recommendations for improving CH critical controls. (Not owning material risk nor critical controls). Supporting PT&E execution team in the assets in the efficacy to deliver CH commitments, through periodic execution of critical control verification, support to Layered Audits and other assurance tools. Advocating for and influencing corporate policy development, regulatory and industry reform in CH matters, preparing memos and papers for different management levels in the company describing progress and challenges. Accountabilities with the biggest impact Delivery of the Role will: Governance of Major Permits aligned with company's standards and requirements (BOS). Deliver permits needed from CMN for operations in Chile. Standardize the practice of CH management across projects and operations, by providing a second line of defence. Review the adoption and the embedment of the CH framework in operations, projects and other key functions. Support CH databases in the assets, promoting quality and availability of information for timely decision making across the business cycle (planning, studies, construction, operation and closure stages). Contribute to the improvement of heritage risk management framework. Provide periodic reports to Senior management about cultural heritage status in the region. Monitor and systematize regulations and their changes to orient CH management in the Assets. About You Experience in CH Management practice and knowledge of legislative requirements in Chile and ideally in other countries along the Americas. Understanding of mine planning and mine operations. Management of systems and processes. Navigating highly complex internal and external stakeholders in a dynamic landscape. Advocating and influencing strategies and skills. Required: Archaeologist, with significant exposure to Cultural Heritage Matters. 5 years' experience in Cultural Heritage management or environmental management fields. Knowledge of environmental legislation and experience engaging with regulator bodies. Leadership of medium size teams and contractors. Fluency in Spanish and English. Recommended: Understanding of mine planning and mining operations. Experience managing contractors for heritage management work.
