The Outfitting Assistant works set hours under the direction of the Guest Services Manager, helping with the movement of bags and polar clothing in the warehouse.
The position is a physical role that works independently to prepare supplies for guests traveling to Antarctica.

Seasonal Information Outfitting Assistants in Punta Arenas generally work from November to January.
Duties and Responsibilities: Prepare handwritten tags and laminated codes Drop-off and Pick-up polar clothing from the laundromat Weigh bags of supplies going to Antarctica Organize clean polar clothing in the Guest Warehouses on racks Prepare paperwork for rental polar clothing Sort dirty laundry and deliver items to laundromat Remove, clean and insert boot liners into polar boots Clean Velcro on clothing Review clothing for wear or stains Roll heavy sleeping bags and store in stuff sacks Collect bags for storage and maintain inventory records Prepare and clean-up chairs and drinks for briefing events in the office Support all guest related activities that are not exclusive to the warehouse Other duties as assigned Required Skills and Abilities: Be able to read excel sheets and understand inventory systems Relate with a diverse range of individuals Uphold a positive attitude and stay positive working under pressure Initiative to repeat the same task for a full shift Work independently or with a group in a large warehouse Natural ability to organize clothing and baggage Move 25kg bags to the warehouse and enjoy physical work Ability to work systematically and repeat the same task for hours.
Minimum Qualifications: Must hod a Class B license, and be able to communicate on a basic level in both verbal and written English.
Preferred qualifications include customer service, strong computer skills, and some cold weather camping experience.
Physical Requirements This position involves medium work that primarily involves standing or moving for long periods of time.
This position may exert up to 60 pounds of force occasionally and/or up to 40 pounds of force frequently and/or up to 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
Incumbents in this role typically require standing or sitting for prolonged periods, communicating with others to exchange information, repeating motions that may include wrists, hands and/or fingers, assessing the accuracy, neatness and thoroughness of the work assigned.
