Summary:
Everest Compañía de Seguros Chile S.A. has an opportunity for a Legal Analyst to join Everest's Law Department, to be based in Everest's Santiago office.
This individual will report directly to the Vice President, Associate General Counsel LatAm to provide legal and administrative support for Everest's business segments operating in Latin America. The role will primarily support Everest's insurance operations in Chile, Mexico and Colombia. The role will also involve interaction with Everest's wider global legal team and Home Office (HO) staff in the United States.
The successful candidate will have proven experience working in a law firm or in-house legal department in Latin America, with relevant experience of the Latin American insurance industry or financial services sector. The individual will have excellent communication and analytical skills.
Responsibilities:
Provides legal advice to Everest's Latin American business, and to all areas of the Chilean Company.Keeps the legal records of the Chilean company updated.Reviews and prepares contracts required by the Chilean Company and supports the review and preparation of contracts required for wider Latin American operations.Assists Local Counsel on corporate matters.Prepares answers to queries and questions presented by the Chilean and other local Regulators, clients or other stakeholders.Sends recurrent legal information to local Regulators.Assists with all legal requirements/documents between Home Office, external lawyers, the Latin American teams and external advisors.Qualifications and Skills:
Degree in law. Professional legal qualification by a certified university in Chile.Specialized studies in insurance. (Desirable)At least 3 to 5 years of experience in the insurance industry within Latin America.Advanced level of English language. Fluent Communication in English.Experience of interfacing effectively with all levels of management (i.e. underwriters, claim analysts, actuaries, external counsel, brokers, etc.)Strong negotiating skills and analytical ability.Strong written and oral communication skills, both Spanish and English.Strong work ethic, ability to self-manage and work in a team environment.Ability to work well under pressure and manage multiple projects/priorities in a dynamic developing environment.Common sense, good judgment, and solution-oriented attitude toward legal issues.
