About the RoleFor BHP, we are looking for a Lead Principal Major Permits role, who will have the mission to contribute to the development of the strategy for the preparation and processing of major permits for BHP MinAm's operations, based on contributing with environmental technical leadership regarding the critical aspects of MinAm's operations. This, in order to prepare a condition that enables the growth plan for each operation in Chile.
The role is settled in Santiago, Chile.
Generate an adequate work plan with the Project teams.Implement a strategy of major permits until they are obtained.Efficiently manage the technical services associated with major permits.Maintain coordination with the Engineering teams or projects.Manage risks and opportunities in matters of major permits.Plan, implement, and monitor the major permitting processes of the initiatives under their responsibility.Design permit management strategies incorporating the relevant environmental management aspects of the company's assets to support the creation of social value.Lead the bidding processes for the award of services aimed at the preparation and processing of major permits.Establish and verify the technical compliance of the documentation necessary for the processing of permits.Generate coordination routines with the engineering areas during all stages of major permit management.Administer and manage budgets and contracts for expert consulting services in matters of major permits.Coordinate communications and relations with the authorities involved in the processes of environmental assessment and the processing of major permits. This, in coordination with other functions of the company.Coordinate the generation of the matrix of commitments and/or obligations associated with the RCAs and/or the permits obtained.Lead the process of identifying possible gaps in environmental and sectoral permits, with the development of the respective mitigation plan.About YouMore than 10 years of experience in major permit management.More than 8 years of experience in the management of multidisciplinary work teams.Experience in the preparation and processing of projects within the framework of the SEIA.Experience in mining, natural resources, or another similar area/industry.Knowledge of regulatory, normative and technical issues associated with major permits.Fluent command of English, written and oral language is mandatory.About Our ProcessAt BHP, we are committed to hiring individuals who align with our values charter.
