Job Summary: This role will be responsible for the mechanical equipment and material transportation packages in a Heap Leaching Project, with a high capacity for management and leadership in periodic interdisciplinary meetings with the client and/or suppliers of the plant equipment, in areas of heap, solvent extraction (SX), material handling (conveyors, stackers, etc.)
or others, where in conjunction with other disciplines, the best technical solutions will be validated and reviewed.
This role will lead and execute the design, develop, modify and evaluate mechanical components and processes with continuous interrelation with other disciplines.
Their recommendations will solve technical problems and ensure that the unique and complex requirements of the mechanical aspects of a project are met.
Major Responsibilities: Performing the design of mechanical equipment and systems for mining industry projects, including pumps (water and solvent distribution networks), leaching process circuits, SX equipment and others related. Performing calculations and analysis that lead to technical design recommendations for sizing mechanical equipment. Preparing requests for materials, specifications, data sheets and other technical documents related to the acquisition of mechanical equipment. Assisting and leading in the evaluation of suppliers and technical evaluations of bids. Coordinating with mechanical designers to produce designs and drawings according to project standards. Coordinating with P&ID mechanical designers to produce drawings according to project standards. Coordinating the work and collaborating with other disciplines and engineering areas of the company. Preparing conceptual studies, designs, reports, and/or proposals. Providing technical assistance to other mechanical personnel and interacting with project and client functions to resolve complex regulatory issues with knowledge of industry codes and standards. Providing assistance to project and construction management to identify and meet project mechanical requirements and address issues that arise during project execution. Education and Experience Requirements: Requires a degree in Mechanical Civil Engineering, and a minimum of 15 years of relevant work experience in mining.
Required Knowledge and Skills: Knowledge of gas extraction and handling equipment applied in projects and equipment required in mining industry processes, particularly in leaching plants (mandatory). Proven experience in sizing and selecting equipment for Heap Leaching systems is an essential and exclusive requirement. Field experience in the mining industry (mandatory). Knowledge of the development and analysis of water, acid and slurry network calculations. Knowledge of developing calculations for air networks, HVAC, tanks and fire protection systems (mandatory). The candidate must effectively apply technical knowledge and skills to solve a variety of problems, complete tasks/assignments and provide guidance and advice. The candidate must have sufficient experience and capabilities to act with considerable professional autonomy. Flexibility and enthusiasm for individual and team tasks. Advanced intermediate level of oral and written English (mandatory). Demonstrated skills in oral and written communication.
