Requisition ID: 279617 Relocation Authorized: None Telework Type: Full-Time Office/Project Work Location: Santiago Job Summary: In this role, you will be responsible for the mechanical packages mainly of material handling, developing requisitions of materials and/or services in concentrator and/or copper processing plants, with the ability to prepare typical technical tender documents, such as Design Criteria, Technical Specifications, Calculation Reports, MTO, MR's, SR's, Data Sheets, etc. Participate and/or lead meetings with customers and suppliers to define the scope of work; as well as the technical and design definitions of equipment and/or systems. Be able to make quantity estimates and Capex/Opex support on the mechanical scopes of a project. Lead the design, development, modification and/or evaluation of mechanical components and/or packages, ensuring an excellent interrelation with other disciplines. Major Responsibilities: Carrying out the design of mechanical equipment and systems with a specialty in material handling, for projects in the mining industry, but also including valued knowledge of pumps (water and sludge distribution networks), grinding circuits, thickening and other related. Performing calculations and analyses that lead to technical design recommendations for material handling equipment. Preparing requests for materials, specifications, data sheets, technical evaluations and other technical documents related to the procurement of mechanical equipment. Developing the entire management process for the technical evaluation of suppliers of equipment and mechanical systems for tenders. Coordinating with mechanical designers to produce designs and drawings according to project standards. Coordinating with P&ID mechanical designers to produce drawings according to the project standards. Coordinating the work and collaborate with other disciplines and engineering areas of the company. Developing conceptual studies, designs, reports, estimates and/or proposals. Providing technical assistance to other mechanical personnel and interact with project and customer functions, to solve complex regulatory problems with knowledge of industry codes and standards. Providing assistance to the project and/or construction management to identify and comply with the mechanical requirements of the project and address the problems that arise during the execution of the project. Education and Experience Requirements: Requires a bachelor's degree in Mechanical Civil Engineering, and a minimum of 10 years of relevant and specific work experience in mining (mandatory). Required Knowledge and Skills: Proven experience in material transport equipment required in mining processes (conveyor belts, stackers, feed hoppers, feeders, etc.) (essential requirement). Knowledge of engineering, standards and design of material handling equipment applied in projects and processes in the mining industry (mandatory). Knowledge of engineering, standards and design of concentrator plant equipment, such as Crushers, Mills, Harners, Flotation Cells, Thickeners, etc. (valued as an additional advantage). Knowledge of engineering standards and design of ponds, chutes, bins, etc. and the elements of boiler typical used in mining processes (desirable). Knowledge of development of calculations for networks of air, air conditioning, deposit, and fire protection systems (desirable). At least basic management of the Belt Analyst software (mandatory). Must effectively apply technical knowledge and skills to solve a variety of problems, complete assignments/assignments, and provide guidance and advice. Sufficient experience and skills to act with desirable professional autonomy according to the years of experience required in this position. Flexibility and enthusiasm for individual and team tasks.
