Located 800 km northeast of Lima, Peru, Yanacocha is South America's largest gold mine. The WTP Project consists of two of the largest acid water treatment plants in South America (the West one with capacity of 3,000 m3/hour and the East one with 2,700 m3/hour). Early works are currently being performed on site, preparing the permanent platforms and laydown areas for the East and West plants.
Job Summary: In this role, you will be responsible for mechanical packages and their Requisitions of Materials and Vendor Print reviews in a water treatment plant in a copper and gold mining project. Participate and lead meetings with clients and/or suppliers for reviews, comments and clarifications for the required compliance in the scope of work; as well as the technical and design definitions of the equipment and/or systems. Lead the review of the design, development, modification (if applicable) and/or evaluation of components of the assigned mechanical packages, ensuring an excellent interrelation with all disciplines and related areas such as logistics, expediters, purchasing, quality, estimates, etc.
Major Responsibilities: Reviewing and controlling the design of equipment and mechanical systems for mining industry projects focused on water treatments, including pumps (water and pulp distribution networks), ponds, thickeners, compressors and other related.Performing calculations and analyzing that lead to technical design recommendations, if required.Controlling and managing in its completeness the requisitions of materials, as well as documents such as technical specifications, data sheets, technical evaluations and other technical documents related to the purchases of mechanical equipment.Having knowledge of the entire management process for the technical evaluation of suppliers and of equipment and mechanical systems for tenders.Coordinating with mechanical designers for revisions and/or updates of designs and drawings according to project standards and technical information from suppliers and customer.Coordinating the work and collaborating with other disciplines and engineering areas of the Company.If applicable, preparing conceptual studies, designs, reports, estimates and/or proposals.Providing technical assistance to other mechanical personnel and interact with project and customer functions, to solve complex regulatory problems with knowledge of industry codes and standards.Providing assistance to the project and/or construction management to identify and comply with the mechanical requirements of the project and address the problems that arise during the execution of the project.Education and Experience Requirements: Requires a bachelor's degree in Mechanical Civil Engineering, and a minimum of 10 years of relevant and specific work experience in mining.Required Knowledge and Skills: Proven experience in process equipment of advanced water treatment technologies such as reverse osmosis, filtration and chemical treatments to remove contaminants such as metals, sediments and chemicals from water (mandatory).Knowledge of engineering, standards and equipment design of water treatment plants, such as: Pumps, Ponds, Agitators, HDS Thickeners, Air Compressors, dryers and receivers, etc, which are applied in projects and processes of the mining industry (mandatory).Knowledge of the development and analysis of calculations of water networks (of processes and fire fighting networks) and pulps (mandatory).FluidFlow knowledge for the calculation of water, pulp and air networks (desirable).Intermediate-advanced of oral and written English level (mandatory).
