Job Summary: In this role, you will be responsible for leading and performing schedule development, maintenance, monitoring, and presentation activities as directed for proposals, studies or projects. Ensures total project scope is included in the plan while determining schedule dates for work activities within discipline areas or specialties. Develops milestones to support the project schedule and develops resource loading and leveling as required. Establishes work sequence and activity durations for a specific discipline or specialty.
This position is designated as part-time telework per our global telework policy and may require at least three days of in-person attendance per week at the assigned office or project. Weekly in-person schedules will be determined by the individual and their supervisor, in consultation with functional or project leadership. Major Responsibilities: Performing and/or coordinating, collecting, verifying, and integrating the work scope for all entities, departments, and/or disciplines into the total project plan. Reviewing and ensuring the representation of project scope in schedules. Preparing and analyzing comparisons of scope, quantities, and cost data between the projects.Reviewing and evaluating schedule durations for all discipline's activities relative to the support of project milestones. Ensuring all disciplines/departments are aware of the schedule and understand their responsibilities. Supervising, directing and performing the calculation of durations and other considerations affecting activity durations.Working with all organizations, disciplines and entities to coordinate work sequences and identifying logical relationships & interdisciplinary constraints and/or interfaces for incorporation into the plan.Planning, organizing, and executing schedule resource loading and leveling. Coordinating development of all bulk commodity release and installation curves. Integrating appropriate workforce requirements for each discipline/specialty relative to the overall project needs. Determining quantity and workforce levels in support of the project needs and schedule philosophy.Providing schedule knowledge on a continuous basis to assist in discipline planning and interfacing with others.Performing schedule monitoring, including identifying critical activities and updating functions for specific applications, disciplines, or specialties.Developing and implementing requirements/process for updating and monitoring the schedule.Performing benchmarking analysis of plans to demonstrate plan viability.Performing schedule risk analysis of plans to determine appropriate level of contingency.Performing project schedule analysis and studies of problem areas to determine criticality of schedule activities. Recommending alternatives for schedule improvement to project team for discussion and/or decision.Education and Experience Requirements: Bachelor's degree in an engineering or scientific discipline and/or equivalent knowledge of engineering and construction management customarily acquired over time through specialized instruction or practical experience, and 10-13 years of relevant experience or 14-17 years of relevant work experience.Required Knowledge and Skills: Experience in performing, monitoring, and reviewing planning & scheduling functions such as schedule development, control, and analysis in the field and the home office.Experience leading a planning team providing day-to-day supervision as well as training and development opportunities.Advanced level of knowledge of engineering, procurement, contracts, construction, and startup work processes in the mining and pipeline industry.Skilled in understanding technical processes, engineering drawings, quantity determinations, and financial reports.Proficiency with PC operating systems, with proficiency in several basic software applications.Proficiency with multiple discipline specific software applications currently used in Bechtel (Primavera, Microsoft Office Applications and Tilos, for example).Skilled in oral and written communication.Bi-lingual Spanish & English (preferred).
