Job Summary: In this role, you will participate in the design, development, modification, and evaluation of civil/structural components and processes. You will assist with preparation of construction drawings, project schedules, models, calculations, material requisitions, studies, reports, presentations, and proposals. Your assistance will contribute to civil/structural designs that meet project requirements. Major Responsibilities: Participating in the design, development,modification and evaluation of Civil/Structural components andprocesses utilizingrelevant Engineering Department Procedures(EDPs), design standards and guides, BechtelStandard Application Programs (BSAPs) and Design Control Check List (DCCL) and Design Review Notices(DRNs). Planning civil/structural layout, preparing detailed civil/structural design and layout drawings for small structures, portions of major buildings, roadways, railroads, etc.Ensuring designs are compliant with local and national regulations before and during construction. Designing structures using knowledge of structural analysis, including statics, dynamics, and materials engineering. Determining the appropriate use of various structural elements such as steel, wood, masonry, and concrete to ensure appropriate material is used based on load or stress requirements. Originating structural engineering deliverables, such as steel and concrete calculations, specifications, and material requisitions. Preparing building material interface details for review by senior personnel. Participating in reviews and recommending approval of design drawings and data for compliance with requirements. Preparing civil/structural designs and construction drawings using 2-D/3-D computer aided design (CAD), presentation graphics and civil models and codes. Preparing procurement and subcontract requisition documents and performing associated technical bid evaluations with award recommendations. Providing technical assistance to other Civil/Structuralpersonnel and interacting with project functions,the customer, and regulatory agency personnel inthe resolution of complex regulatory issues andindustry codes and standards. Education and Experience Requirements: Requires a bachelor's degree in Civil or Civil Structural Engineering or related to the position, and 2-5 years of relevant experience or 6-9 years of relevant work experience.
