Primary Responsibilities Contribute to fostering the mission, vision, and values of Nido; Engage in the Nido community by promoting a positive, collaborative school culture; Teach five sections of high school courses. The allocations will likely include two sections of "First Year Seminar" course, which is an innovative, interdisciplinary course focused on health, technology, and collaboration for ninth grade students as well as two sections of the "Changemakers course", which is a course co-taught by film, design, technology, and humanities teachers focusing on student examination of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and ways that students can design impact projects and advocate within their their local and global communities. We are hoping that the "First Year Seminar" and "Changemakers" courses will continue to grow and become established as a signature component of our Nido HS experience. Finally, the candidate will help launch semester-based courses in Innovation through the University of Delaware's high school dual enrollment program. Collaborate with the interdisciplinary departments to further develop and improve the innovation curriculum- this includes participating in weekly curricular planning meetings with course-alike teaching partners;
Serve as an Advisor for a small group of 8-12 high school students; Engage in the co-curricular program at Nido by advising a club or coaching an athletic team; Participate in the annual Week Without Walls program.
