Abbott is looking for a Quality Operations Manager, for the production plant based in Santiago.
This role is responsible for:
Ensure compliance with Good Manufacturing Practices and Documentation in the manufacturing, packaging, storage, and distribution processes for local and imported manufacturing products.Ensure the release of products manufactured and distributed by Abbott in a timely manner, and the safeguarding of supporting technical documentation in accordance with Abbott policies and regulatory requirements.Provide expert level guidance and direction of the Quality Assurance and Validations across f the site.Establish appropriate quality improvement plans for the continuous improvement of the operation and the resolution of problems, identifying opportunities, evaluating risks, monitoring Quality KPIs and implementing contingency plans.Maintain effective Quality Metrics and define and execute activities to resolve decreases in performance.Supports operations in continuous improvement initiatives by providing direction on process validation/verification requirements for proposed changes.Support New Product Introduction initiatives by supporting the design transfer projects.Develop the talent of the team, and helping build a culture of quality, collaboration, and teamwork with all the functions of the plant.Knowledge and experience required: Bachelor's degree in pharmaceutical chemistry (validated in Chile). 10 + years professional experience in pharmaceutical industry, 3+ years providing direct management and supervision of exempt specialists and/or supervisory staff.Experience working in a quality system environment, or related combination of education and work experience.Proficiency in EnglishStrong management skills with proven leadership and team-building skills.Excellent organization skills, attention to detail — must have precision in work completed, especially as it relates to understanding and documenting complex quality issues.Attracts, selects, develops, and manages talent for higher levels of performance.Assesses issues thoroughly and solves complex problems; removes roadblocks for the team.Excellent writing skills — must be able to summarize complex issues in a clear, succinct, and accurate manner. Must be able to write in a manner that effectively conveys complex issues to the reader.Strong communication, problem-solving and motivational skills.Demonstrated ability to carry out assignments in a timely, accurate manner and accomplishing tasks as required with little or no supervision.Ability to interact effectively with all levels of the organization, engage resources and perform multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
