Established in 1874, we have grown to become the world leader in mining and civil blasting with a diverse of team of more than 13,000 across the world.It's an exciting time to join us – we are shaping the future of mining through digital and automated technologies, embracing new ways of thinking, pioneering innovation and reimagining the way we work.About the roleSpecialist environmental support and services to the Regional SHES (Safety, Health, Environment and Security)team and to the businesses and sites operating within the Latinamerica Region.Technical guidance and leadership of Environmental Strategic Plan, Environmental Management initiatives and improvements in the Region in support of the Corporate Environment Strategy.Technical guidance and leadership of environmental improvement projects in the Region to achieve individual project goals (statutory compliance, divestment, liability management, etc.).Key accountabilities· Review and management of Environmental Strategy performance metrics for the Region. Identification and implementation of improvement plans (which may be inter- or intra-Regional) in conjunction with the Regional SHES team.· Environmental leadership through SHES-compliant and proactive engagement (e.g., Senior Leadership Interactions – SLIs).· Assistance in application of Environmental Key Control Verifications (eKCVs) and follow-up improvement actions.· Specialist environmental support of land and groundwater contamination prevention projects within the Region through all phases to deliver acceptable project outcomes based on risk reduction, liability management, reputational management, etc.· Specialist environmental support and leadership to the Region to ensure compliance with Group Standard 21 Environment and with requirements relating to establishment and management of environmental provisions.· Specialist environmental support of Material Environmental Issues Reviews (MEIRs) and SHES Audits in the Region.· Specialist environmental support of Mergers and Acquisitions (M) projects as required in the Region.Metrics· SHES (particularly Environmental) performance for the Region and for projects.· Completion of (effective) actions in Enablon – primarily personally-assigned actions; secondarily for Environmental events, eKCVs, audits, MEIRs, etc. in the Region.· SLIs carried out personally within the Region.· eKCVs in the Region.· Remediation projects' delivery against technical and project performance objectives - acceptance by environmental auditor (if applicable) and regulator.· Feedback from Regional Head of SHES, site managers, remediation project managers, M project managers, etc.What you will bringCritical Experience and Qualifications:· Formal qualifications in related disciplines or relevant engineering disciplines (environmental, chemical) are strongly preferred.· Strong SHES management skills and commitment· Experience (5-10 years) in SHES leadership and in environmental management systems and strategy delivery strongly preferred.· Sound knowledge of environmental management technologies and principles.· Sound knowledge of regulatory framework within the Region.· Good level of English and proficiency in Portuguese.NOTE: Only resume in English will be accepted.Skills:· Strong communication (written, verbal, listening) and strategic influencing skills.· Good time and priority management skills.· Attention to detail.· Project management skills, including cost and progress controls, would be helpful.Competencies/Characteristics:· Relationship building· Results Orientation· Strategic Thinking· Holding Others Accountable· Commercial Focus· Conceptual ThinkingWhat we offerAs part of a truly global company, you will have the ability to grow and learn in a diverse, collaborative culture.
