BAT MEXICOIS LOOKING FOR A ESG SENIOR SPECIALIST SENIORITY LEVEL: Non – Management FUNCTION: Operations LOCATION: Santiago Ixcuintla ROLE POSITIONING AND OBJECTIVES This role is part of operations area. Supports the local Leaf ESG deployment for the Groups tobacco requirements and initiatives across BAT's operations. Support Leaf ESG manager in coordinating the initiatives, internal and external audits, engages internal and external stakeholder and manages key relationships when requested by Sustainability leadership. Supports on-the-ground implementation and verification when requested by Sustainability, field and operations leadership. Reports to: Line Manager WHAT YOU WILL BE ACCOUNTABLE FOR (Lead the preparation and submission of ESG reports, ensuring compliance with relevant standards and frameworksCollaborate with internal teams to gather and analyse data on environmental, social, and governance (ESG) performance.Engage with internal and external stakeholders to understand their sustainability concerns and expectations.Develop and maintain strong relationships with sustainability partners, NGOs, and farmers.Identify and assess sustainability risks and opportunities, providing recommendations for risk mitigation and enhancement of sustainability performance.Contribute to the development and implementation of sustainability policies and procedures.Stay informed about emerging sustainability trends, regulations, and best practices to ensure continuous improvement.Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate sustainability principles into business operations. Providing training and support.ESSENTIAL EXPERIENCE, SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE Experience Required 2+ years working in Agriculture/ESG, environmental and/or social verifications in Supply chains/operations.Strong understanding of sustainability standards, frameworks, and reporting requirements.Experience in project management and implementation of sustainability initiatives.Excellent analytical skills with proficiency in data analysis tools.Strong communication, engagement, and interpersonal skills, driven to work on the ground with engagement of stakeholders and farmers.Technical / Functional / Leadership Skills Required Drive, positive attitude, proactive, pragmatic & hands-on approachKnowledge of Agriculture, supply chains operations and sustainability certificationsInitiative, problem-solving and transformational mindsetEducation / Qualifications / Certifications Required Academic background in Environment or Social sciences, engineering or related fieldsIntermediate/Advanced English (B2/C1)Microsoft office, specially excel, communication and graphic design BENEFICIAL Certification process experience in agriculture supply chainsData analysis and reportingLabor and Human rights projects' implementationGender approach in agricultural supply chainsWE ARE BAT At BAT we are committed to our Purpose of creating A Better Tomorrow.
