Job Summary: In this role, you will plan, develop, and review control systems design work, produce drawings and documentation, and prepare design estimates for a project. You will coordinate with clients, facilitate technical discussions, and review and approve drawings, calculations, and bid summaries. You will solve complex technical issues and ensure control systems designs comply with all regulations and standards.
Major Responsibilities: Leading or administrating work of Control Systems designers and drafters for a business line technology to include the preparation of layouts, study drawings, detailed 2-D and 3-D Computer Aided Design (CAD) design models and construction drawings.Developing designs for complete and complex Control Systems engineering.Assisting in constructing detailed scale models.Monitoring and checking work for compliance with approved Control Systems design standards to provide quality design, reliable/safe plant operation and construction economy.Participating in constructability reviews.Preparing design and drafting procedures to standardize design effort.Reviewing Control Systems design scope changes, as required, for project management.Education and Experience Requirements: Level 1: Requires bachelor's degree related to the position, and 5-8 years of relevant experience or 9-12 years of relevant work experience.
Level 2: Requires bachelor's degree related to the position, and 8-10 years of relevant experience or 12-14 years of relevant work experience.
Required Knowledge and Skills: Knowledge of the Intergraph Smart Instrumentation tool.Knowledge of the tool for 2D designs Bentley MicroStation and/or Autodesk Autocad.Knowledge of the tool for 3D designs Intergraph Smart 3D.Knowledge of the management and collaborative work tool Bentley ProjectWise.Intermediate/advanced knowledge of the Office, Excel and Visio tools of the Microsoft suite.For decades, Bechtel has worked to inspire the next generation of engineers and beyond!
