Main Responsibilities | Activities
Lundin and Zinkgruvan AB maintain multi-tiered oversight of all TSFs in accordance with the company's governance framework and standards. As a key member of the Zinkgruvan team and reporting to the Senior RTFE, this individual will perform the role of the site-based Deputy - Responsible Tailings Facility Engineer (D-RTFE) as defined in the Global Industry Standard on Tailings Management (GISTM). The individual will be working with TSF integrity and for design implementation. The D-RTFE is also working with the ongoing management and governance of the TSFs in line with the Lundin Tailings Management Standard.
The D-RTFE will be a support to Senior RTFE and an important part of the site teams, corporate tailings personnel,
and the Engineer of Record (EOR) towards the safe operation, surveillance, and ongoing maintenance of the TSFs and water retaining structures. The individual will implement technical requirements and maintain conformance with company standards and regularly monitor, identify, and address potential risks.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Supervise, guide and participate in activities to maintain performance of TSFs and water retention structures through inspection, measurement, data management, interpretation, analysis, coordination, problem solving and reporting.
2. Be part of liaising with the EOR, construction, operations, planning, regulatory affairs, social performance, and environment teams.
3. Be familiar with the design, construction, operation, and performance of TSFs.
4. Oversee construction Quality Control (QC) and Quality Assurance (QA)
activities for TSFs and water retention structures.
5. Support and/or lead site projects related to tailings management including life-of-mine planning.
6. Communicate accurate, timely and relevant information to the site and corporate management teams.
7. Coordinate and update risk assessments pertaining to tailings and water management systems.
8. Review designs in key practice areas and understand interaction with other functional areas/disciplines.
9. Provide updates to operating, maintenance, and surveillance manuals, along with emergency preparedness and response plans, and other management system documents.
10. Support the planning of and participate in independent tailings review site visits and meetings.
11.
Be familiar with the content and requirements of relevant industry standards and guidelines such as GISTM, RIDAS, and GruvRIDAS.
