We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Chief Engineer to join our dynamic team on our purpose-built support vessel, the "Antarctic Provider".
What you will do As the Chief Engineer, you will oversee all technical operations within our organization. You will be responsible for leading the engine department, managing projects, and ensuring the efficient operation and maintenance of our equipment and facilities. The ideal candidate will have a strong background as Chief Engineer, exceptional leadership skills, and a proven track record of success in similar roles. Chief Engineer is overall responsible and in charge of all technical installations onboard the vessel, and all R&M and ordering of spare parts for these components as well as responsible for, and being sure costs are held at or below budget.
Other responsibilities will be:
Lead and manage the engine department, providing guidance, mentoring, and support to achieve project goals and objectives.Oversee the design, development, and implementation of engineering projects, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations.Manage the maintenance and repair of equipment and infrastructure, optimizing efficiency and minimizing downtime.Collaborate with other departments to support company objectives and initiatives.Develop and implement strategies to improve operational performance and reduce costs.Ensure compliance with safety regulations and promote a culture of safety within the engine department.Your profile Are you the Chief Engineer we're looking for?
The right candidate has experience from, preferably, other shipping or fishing companies. You are structured and systematic yet flexible and responsive. You have a positive, can-do attitude and manage to roll up your sleeves with the motivation to respond in a 24/7/365 operation.

Engineer Officer Class 1, CoCM1.Medical CertificateSafety Course for officerAt least 5 years of experience in role as Chief Engineer.Strong leadership and management skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate a team.Excellent problem-solving abilities and analytical skills.Proficient in project management software and tools.Knowledge of regulatory requirements and industry best practices.Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.Location Vessel/Antarctica
Travel and rotation Crew changes are normally arranged in Montevideo, Punta Arenas and Puerto Williams. Rotation is approximately 8 weeks on and off but may deviate slightly due to operation.
