Role Summary: The Centrifugal Pump Mechanical Technician is responsible for the disassembly, cleaning and inspection processes of all pumps (repair or upgrade) and coking equipment. In this role, the Mechanical Technician will use precision inspection equipment to measure dimensions of components and assemblies, and will also repair and assemble equipment in compliance with quality standards, company policies and deadlines.
Responsibilities: Follow instructions given in pre-job briefings and complete all checklists, routers and procedures.Clean each part to be reused and document the condition of the components.Use hand torches and liquid nitrogen when appropriate in the disassembly process.Disassemble products to repair or replace defective materials or worn parts and perform other repairs as required.Inspect components and assemblies accurately and precisely, and clearly record the results of these inspections.Remove visible dirt, grit, oil, grease and other foreign matter from pumping product parts, prior to assembly.Frequently apply primers and finish coatings to the exterior of pump products and parts using spray equipment.Operate various precision measuring tools.Take photographs to document condition and process.Participate in and adhere to the implementation and use of appropriate information and operational systems, manufacturing and quality processes.Participate in and report quality related problems. Report deviations, ensure non-conformance reporting and execute identified corrective actions.Communicate clearly and professionally with production planners and customers to discuss component and pump conditions.Coordinate and interact with sales, operations, engineers and customers as needed.Other duties as assigned.Requirements: Mechanical, Industrial Technician or similar career with at least 7 to 8 years of experience.Experience in pump repair.Previous experience in a manufacturing environment.Experience with pumps or heavy machinery.Able to read and interpret blueprints.Experience in Metrology and measuring instruments.Class D driver's license.Exhibit a demeanor that encourages teamwork, decision making, problem solving and continuous improvement.Must have a personal set of power tools, micrometers and a rolling toolbox.Must be able to work overtime, including weekends and holidays.Flowserve is a world-leading manufacturer and aftermarket service provider of comprehensive flow control systems.
