What we'll need you to bringKnowledge of catering standards and related procedures.Required to undertake on-the-job training and induction (this will generally take 4-6 weeks, depending on hours/days worked), to achieve full competency across a range of duties.Working knowledge of Health & Safety including participation in risk assessing individual tasks.Required to undertake Prevention, Assessment & Management of Violence of Aggression (PaMOVA) training level 1 and level 2, if identified following an appropriate risk assessment.Undertake NHS Lanarkshire compulsory training.Undertake mandatory Health Care Support Workers (HCSW) standards.Undertake and complete NHSS Catering Services Workbook.Ability to work with people and as part of a multidisciplinary team.Effective written and verbal communication skills.Ability to carry out assigned tasks effectively in a busy environment.Required to obtain the Elementary Food Hygiene Certificate.Working knowledge of basic information technology.It would be great if you also haveNumerate, literate and practical.Recognised SVQ or equivalent qualification which relates to the post.Work experience within a catering environment.Knowledge of infection control, COSHH and fire safety.Manual handling.Contract typePermanent

Location and Working PatternThis role will be based in Catering within University Hospital Monklands.
The working pattern for this role is: Monday to Friday 4pm-8pm.

From 1 April 2024, the working week for NHS Agenda for Change workers in Scotland will be reduced.
Full-time hours will reduce from 37.5 to 37 hours (pro rata for part-time staff) without loss of earnings.
NHS Lanarkshire will implement this change but it may not be possible to fully transition from 1 April and there may therefore be some areas of the organisation where implementation may take longer.
If the department is currently unable to safely accommodate the reduced hours from 1st April, you may be required to work 37.5 hours per week until the department can meet the requirements without impacting patient safety - you will, of course, be remunerated accordingly.
NHS Lanarkshire is committed to full implementation of the 37 hour working week across all areas as soon as it is safe to do so.
